Jackie C. ("Jack") Gooch

Jackie “Jack” Carlton Gooch, 60, of Moncks Corner husband of 27 years to Sheryl L. Buckman Gooch, passed away Tuesday December 29, 2020 at his residence.

Jack was born November 22, 1960 in Derry, Ireland, a son of Margaret Rosaleen Higgins Gooch and the late Jackie Bert Gooch.

A loving husband and father, Jack was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Moncks Corner. He served his country in the US Army and was employed as an Over the Road Truck Driver for over 30 years. He later worked for Shadow Moss Country Club as Head Mechanic and was always willing to use his skills to help family and friends work on their cars, trucks or golf carts that needed to be repaired. Jack was an avid golfer who spent many years playing at Berkeley Country Club as well as other courses. He loved his family and his dog, Berkeley, and will be sadly missed.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are a son- Cody Gooch and his wife, Haven, of Moncks Corner; a daughter- Cadie Gooch of Moncks Corner; a grandson- Jackie Reed Gooch; siblings- Dwayne Gooch and his wife, Brenda, of Moncks Corner; Karen Gooch Harper and her husband, Tom, of Wrightsville, NJ; Erin Colleen Gooch Cumbee and her husband, James, of Moncks Corner; Joseph Gooch and his wife, Denise, of Raleigh, NC; many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins in the US and in Ireland.

A service, with military honors, will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel Saturday afternoon, January 2, 2021 at 3:30 pm. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 2 o’clock until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church, 419 West Main St., Moncks Corner, SC 29461 or The Lymphoma Society, 300 W. Coleman Blvd., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
