Jack A. Villeponteaux, 63, of Moncks Corner, Vice-President of Government and Consumer Affairs of Berkeley Electric Co-Operative where he had been employed for 38 years, husband of Wanda Ammons Villeponteaux, died Monday, May 9, 2011.
Jack was born November 5, 1947, in Moncks Corner, son of James H. Villeponteaux, Sr., and Myrtle Cannon Villeponteaux.
Jack was a graduate of Camden Military Academy and attended Pembroke College. He was a member of Moncks Corner United Methodist Church; a member of Berkeley Chamber of Commerce; Mt. Pleasant Rotary Club; and served as a legislative lobbyist for Berkeley Electric Co-Op.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son – Jeffrey A. Villeponteaux of Moncks Corner; sister-in-law – Barbara Villeponteaux of Harleyville; 2 nephews – Clay Villeponteaux and his wife, Dottie, of Harleyville; and James H. Villeponteaux III and his wife, Karen, of Harleyville; and many cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother – James H. Villeponteaux, Jr.
His graveside funeral service was held Wednesday morning, May 11, 2011, in Biggin Cemetery, at 11 o’clock, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner.
