Jack Levon Johnson, Sr., 69, of Bonneau, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 in the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro.
Jack was born January 2, 1949, in Berkeley County, a son of Bessie Pierce Johnson Litchfield and the late Dempsey Johnson.
Jack was an industrial contractor, estimator and painter. He was a graduate of Macedonia High School and a radar technician in the US Army, having served in the Vietnam War.
Jack loved to cut up and was a barrel of laughs. He truly enjoyed his family and friends and was loved by all who knew him, he enjoyed singing and was a pleasure to be around.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his ex-wife and life-long friend- Mary Johnson; two sons- Jack Johnson, Jr., and Chad Johnson; two daughters-Nicole Heller and Amanda Johnson; four step-children- Michelle Greswell; Steven Jones; Darrow Jones and Dawn Carnell; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a brother- Michael Johnson of Moncks Corner; three sisters- Barbara Merrideth and her husband, Jim, of St. Stephen; Brenda Lipsey and her husband, Randy, of St. Stephen; Wanda Platts and her husband, Joseph, of Andrews; three step-sisters- Betty McMakin, Linda Lawhorne and Susan Wiggins; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter- Stacey Elizabeth Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner, Wednesday evening, January 31, 2018, at 7 o’clock. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 6 o’clock until the hour of service.
