Isaac W. Oglesby

Isaac Washington Oglesby, 89, of Holly Hill, widower of Betty Jackson Oglesby, passed away Wednesday March 10, 2021.

Isaac was born April 20, 1931 in Orangeburg County, son of the late Alex V. Oglesby and Regina Pritcher Oglesby Clark.

A loving father and grandfather, Isaac proudly served in the United States Army, retiring after 21 years of faithful service, he then spent over 20 years as a truck driver. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and American Legion Post #116. Isaac enjoyed working with wood, fishing and watching baseball; he was a lifelong Atlanta Braves fan. He loved family gatherings and spending time with his four grandsons, he will be sadly missed.

Surviving are three daughters- Iris Lynn Wiggins and her husband, Terry, of Holly Hill; Bobbie Sue Coker and her husband, Alvin, of Holly Hill; Belinda Lee Revell and her husband, Clarence, of Santee; a son- David Tillman Oglesby and his wife, Suzy, of Holly Hill; four grandsons- Allen Wiggins, Brandon Oglesby, Alston Oglesby and Jason Revell; two great grandchildren- David and Alyssa Wiggins. In addition to his wife, Isaac is predeceased by three brothers.

His funeral service will be held at Corinth Baptist Church, Vance, SC, Saturday March 13, 2021 at 12 o’clock noon. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 o’clock until the hour of service. Interment, with full military honors, will follow in the church cemetery, directed by Russell Funeral Chapel.
