Henry Walter Spatz

Henry Walter Spatz, 80, of Bonneau, husband of Linda Amelia Sowell Spatz, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016.

Henry was born February 9, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York, a son of Albert Spatz and Violet Russell Spatz.

He was a dedicated husband to Amelia for 23 years. He was a retired veteran of the US Navy, where he served as a sonar tech. He also retired from the Naval Weapons Station as a stevedore. Henry was of the catholic faith and attended Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Bonneau.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters- Sonya Ann Craig of Goose Creek and Diana Lynn Spatz of Oakland, Ca.; a brother-Alex Spatz; two step children- Linda Hedleston and her husband, D.C., of Bonneau and Ernie Mertins and his wife, Kim, of Tennessee; eight grandchildren-Jessica Washington; Emily Craig; Corey Craig; Eden Spatz-Bender; Richard Stephens; Christopher Stephens; Elizabeth Dove; Kayle Robinson and four great grandchildren.

Burial with full military honors, will be held at Florence National Cemetery, Florence, SC Tuesday morning November 22, 2016 at 11 o’clock. The family will receive friends at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner, on Sunday afternoon, November 20, 2016 from 3 to 5 o’clock.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 174 East Bay St. Charleston, SC 29401
