Helen Coleman Chaplin, 88, of North Charleston, wife of Charles L. Chaplin, passed away
Sunday evening, March 30, 2014, in a North Charleston hospital.
Mrs. Chaplin was born November 13, 1925, in Florence, a daughter of Maxcey Coleman
and Ella Turner Coleman.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are two sons - Paul Chaplin of Columbia; and
Maxie Chaplin of Cross; two daughters - Linda Case of North Charleston and Mary
Szvetecz and her husband, Sam, of Arlington, VA; a brother - Maxey Coleman and his
wife, Ruby, of Georgetown; a sister- Lula Eisenhower of Columbia; 3 grandchildren -
Jennifer Purcell and her husband, Brad; Allison Chaplin; and Lindsay Koeper; two great-
grandchildren - Coleman Purcell and Kirkland Purcell. She was pre-deceased by a
granddaughter - Ashley Koeper; and daughter-in-law - Brenda Chaplin.
Her funeral service will be held at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner on Wednesday afternoon, April 2, 2014, at 2 o'clock. Interment will follow in St. John's Baptist Church Cemetery directed by RUSSEL FUNERAL CHAPEL. The family will receive friends at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL between 6 and 8 o'clock Tuesday evening, April 1, 2014.
