Harry Hames Foster, 88, of Moncks Corner, retired shipping and receiving clerk, widower of Clelia L. Foster, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012, in Veterans Victory House, in Walterboro.
Mr. Foster was born March 30, 1924, in Spartanburg, the son of Virgil Parker Foster and Fannie Hames Foster.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Masonic Lodge 242, the Scottiish Rites, Omar Temple, and a charter member of Berkeley Shrine Club. His last employment was with Southern Lumber and Millwork in Charleston.
Surviving are his daughter - Patricia F. Reed and her husband, Sidney, of Bowersville, GA; a son - Harry H. Foster, Jr and his wife, Debbie, of Spartanburg; stepson - Cornell (Mack) Hughes, Jr; stepdaughters - Connie H. Earney and Clara L. LaRose; nephew - Scott Lee; 6 grandchildren - 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson.
A memorial service in Mr. Harry's honor will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner, Thursday, January 3, 2013, at 2 P.M.
