Georgia N Barnes

Georgia Newell Barnes, 92, of Moncks Corner, widow of Adville C. Barnes, passed away Saturday morning at home.

Mrs. Barnes was born September 14, 1920, at Moncks Corner, the daughter of Norval N. Newell and Mattie Taylor Newell.

A member of Moncks Corner United Methodist Church, she was a retired schoolteacher, a member of Berkeley Chapter 112 Order of the Eastern Star and also a member of the White Shrine.

Surviving are her son - Norval Barnes and his wife, Margie, of Moncks Corner; daughter - Margaret N. Duszak and her husband, Bob, of Summerville; 6 grandchildren - Bill Barnes and his wife, Michelle; Patricia Wingate and her husband, Dale; Tracey Birdslo and her husband, Eric; Chris Brophy and his wife, Bunny; Kevin Brophy and his wife, Melissa; James Brophy and his wife, Joyce; 14 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was predceased by a daughter - Vicki N. Brophy.

Her funeral service will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel Tuesday morning, February 26, 2013, at 11 o'clock. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Russell Funeral Chapel Monday evening, February 25, between 6 and 8 o'clock.
