George Edmund Roszak, 92, passed away peacefully Friday, December 31, 2021 at Floyd E. “Tut” Fann State Veterans Home in Huntsville, AL. Mr. Roszak was born November 16, 1929 in Chicago, IL, the son of Joseph Roszak and Stella Kosik Roszak. Mr. Roszak retired in October of 1968 after honorably serving 20 years active military duty (6 yrs. in the USMC and 14 yrs. in the USAF). Mr. Roszak’s service included time spent in the Korean Conflict. After his military service, he then retired from Lockheed Martin where he continued his work as a sheet metal mechanic on military aircraft.
Surviving are his sister, Gloria Lorenz (Roy), his daughter Linda Knickerbocker (Gary), his son Tracy Roszak (Jennifer), and his stepson Eric Etheridge (Kathy). He leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Stella Roszak; 3 brothers- Joe, Leonard and Frank Roszak; his wife Peggy Roszak, and son Ronald Roszak.
Mr. Roszak will be laid to rest beside his loving wife, Peggy in a private graveside service to be held at Plantation Memorial Gardens, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner, SC.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a Veterans Association of your choice in Mr. Roszak’s name.
