George Alan Kirkland

George Alan Kirkland, 76, fondly known as George to his friends and family, passed away on October 29, 2024, in Charleston, S.C. Born on October 5, 1948, in St. Petersburg, Fl., George was a son of the late Henry Grady Kirkland Jr. and Mary Francis Walker Kirkland.

George served honorably in the U.S. Army as part of the Military Police before dedicating his civilian career to many years as a Security Officer. Respected for his sense of duty and commitment, he carried these values throughout his personal and professional life.

He will be missed by his sister, Ann Kirkland Allen; his brother, Henry G. Kirkland III and wife Tina; and his numerous nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his sister Pamela Garnett and his infant brother Paul Kirkland.

His unwavering faith as a Christian led him to be an active and cherished member of his church community. George's legacy of kindness and integrity will be remembered and treasured by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
