Fritz Benjamin Hood, Iii

Fritz Benjamin Hood, III, 66, of Macedonia, the husband of Victoria Aldrich Hood, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022.

Fritz was born December 6, 1955, in Berkeley County, a son of Fritz Benjamin Hood, Jr. and Edna Magliola Hood.

He was a dedicated husband of 40 years, a loving father, and a member of Providence Baptist Church. A graduate of College of Charleston and a retiree of Santee Cooper, Mr. Hood was a very community-minded person who served as the treasurer for Ducks Unlimited, Berkeley Chapter, and used his cooking talents to provide meals for large crowds, including the Church Home Coming BBQ, and for community and family events. Fritz enjoyed woodworking, WWII history, reading, classic cars, and sports bikes. His warmth, love, and commitment to those he loved will be fondly remembered by his family and friends.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are one son- Fritz “Ben” Hood, IV of Goose Creek; one daughter- Erin A. Newcomb and her husband, Grant of Macedonia; one brother- Bruce G. Hood and his wife, Debbie of Macedonia; two sisters- Donna Hood Gueldner and her husband, Karl of Seneca; Kay Hood Meadows and her husband, Jim of Fort Mill; 50 nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held at Providence Baptist Church, Thursday morning, May 5, 2022, at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in Thornley Cemetery in Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening, May 4, 2022, from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock, directed by Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner.
