Franklin E. Herndon, Sr., 73, of Hanahan, husband of Evelyn Herndon, died
Monday in a local nursing home.
His graveside will be at 11 o'clock Thursday morning, in Mt. Pleasant Memorial
Gardens. Friends may call at Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner, from
6 until 8 o'clock this Wednesday evening.
He was born January 21, 1936, at Walterboro, a son of Carl Herndon and
Leareal Crosby Herndon. He was a retired shipyard rigger.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons - Charles Herndon of Huger;
and Franklin Herndon, Jr., and his fiance, Trina Rodgers, of Summerville;
two daughters - Christine Gaskins of St. Stephen; Barbara Fay Herndon of
Jacksonville; a sister - Jeanette Herndon; 15 grandchildren; and 6 great
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
