Forrest E Ackerman

Forrest E. Ackerman, 85, of Summerville, husband of Alberta Brinson Ellington Ackerman, died Saturday, August 25, 2012, in Summerville Medical Center.

Mr. Ackerman was born June 30, 1927, in Cottageville, the son of Thomas R. Ackerman, Jr., and Florence Rhode Ackerman.

He was a member of Faith Assembly of God North, and was a retired self employed carpenter and farmer. Mr. Ackerman was a devout Christian and family man.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are step-sons - Paul Ellington and his wife, Donna, of Goose Creek; and Bill Ellington and his wife, Rhonda, of Paducah, KY; 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; a special niece, Barbara Levesque of Rhode Island; and also a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his eight siblings: Marie, Vivian, Mildred, Phillip, Evelyn, Ruth, Thomas and Dessima.

His funeral service will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel, 107 West Main Street, Moncks Corner, Saturday afternoon, September 2, 2012, at 2 o'clock, with interment following in Red Oak Ackerman Family Cemetery in Cottageville. The family will received friends at Russell Funeral Chapel from 1 o'clock until the hour or service.
