Eugene Wiggins

Samuel Eugene Wiggins, 79, of Macedonia, husband of Evelyn Mills Wiggins, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016.

Eugene was born January 30, 1937, in Berkeley County, a son of Bryant W. Wiggins and Bernice Crawford Wiggins.

He was a dedicated husband to Evelyn for 58 years, a loving father and grandfather, as well as a longtime member of Oak Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a veteran, having served in the US Coast Guard, a retired insurance agent with Liberty Life and a retired Summary Court Judge with Berkeley County. Eugene had been a barber and former owner of Dogwood Mobile Home Park. He will be sadly missed by many.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters- Glenda W. Shank and her husband, Tom, of Macedonia; Cindy W. Jones and her husband, Tim, of West Columbia; two sisters- Levenia Cooper of Macedonia; Dorothy Carpenter of Knoxville, Tn.; three brothers- Bryant W. Wiggins, Jr. and his wife, Christine, of Shallote, NC; Sheldon Wiggins and his wife, Joyce, of Macedonia; Donald Wiggins of Macedonia; three granddaughters- Mary Elise Jones, Christalyn Jones and Callie Jones. He was predeceased by a brother- Carl Wiggins.

His funeral service will be held at Oak Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church in Macedonia, Thursday afternoon, October 13, 2016, at 3 o’clock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL Wednesday evening, October 12, 2016 from 6 to 8 o’clock.
