Eugene Allen

Chief Eugene Allen, 95, of Moncks Corner, husband of Elaine Davis Allen, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016.

He was born June 7, 1921, in Peoria, Ill., a son of John Allen and Kathryn Ballard Allen.

Retired Navy Chief Torpedoman Eugene Allen was an US Navy veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He later retired from Civil Service as a Boiler Maintenance Technician. Eugene was a member of VFW, Johnny Mac Dangerfield Post #9509 and Fleet Home Branch #269 in Goose Creek.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons-Kenneth Allen and his wife, Patricia, of Moncks Corner; Donald Bledsoe of Lake Mary, Fla.; Samuel Allen of Elwood Australia; one daughter- Muriel Morton and her husband, Clayton, of Moncks Corner; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel, Tuesday morning, January 3, 2017, at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in Berkeley Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will receive friends at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL Monday evening, January 2, 2017 from 5 to 7 o’clock.
