Esther Hood Lewis

Esther Hood Lewis,90, of York, S.C., formerly of Shulerville, widow of Walter A. Lewis, died Sunday, April, 1, 2012, in York.

Mrs. Lewis was born April 7, 1921, in Shulerville, the daughter of Willie J. Hood and Shellie Fort Hood.

She was the retired owner of The Magnolia Restaurant in Shulerville and was a member of Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving are her daughter Doris L. Wright of York; 2 grandchildren - Charllene Grady of Moncks Corner; Dwaine Wright of Atlanta, GA; 5 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister - Mary Lois Hargett; 3 brothers - J. P. Hood; Nathaniel Hood; and Ernest Hood; and 2 great grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be in New Hope United Methodist Church in Shulerville, Wednesday afternoon, April 4, 2012, at 2 o'clock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery directed by Russell Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 o'clock until the hour of service.
