Emma Green King, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024, in Charleston, S.C. at the age of 89. She was born to Walter Ray Green and Mamie White Green on November 16, 1934, in Shiloh, Sumter County, S.C..
Affectionately known by all as Emma, she graduated from Rivers High School and furthered her education at Rice Business College, preparing her for a successful professional life. Emma retired as a respected officer of First Federal of Charleston, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan L. King; son, Charles H. King Jr. and his wife Susanne; grandchildren, Andrew King and his wife Chandler, and Matthew King; and her great-granddaughter, Marley Ruth King. Emma's became the widow of Edward J. Schulz Jr., following the passing of her first husband, C. Harry King Sr. She was predeceased by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
A woman of quiet strength and immense kindness, Emma will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. Graveside funeral services were held at Carolina Memorial Gardens on Monday, April 22, 2024, directed by Russell Funeral Chapel of Moncks Corner.
