Emily Hundley Smoak, 92, of Charleston, widow of Ronald Allen Smoak, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017.
Emily was born December 30, 1924, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, a daughter of Oscar and Elizabeth Hundley.
A retired Civil Service employee, Emily had worked as a Collection Agent for the Charleston Naval Hospital. She had also owned Emily’s Needle Art Shoppe in Moncks Corner. Her hobbies included painting, quilting, cross stitching and framing. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed.
Surviving are a daughter- Cynthia Horton and her husband, Bill, of Moncks Corner; a son- Douglas Smoak and his wife, Lori Hull, of Charleston; a granddaughter- Tes Smoak also of Charleston; a sister-Alice Heldreth of Herndon, Va.; sister-in-law-Cecile Hundley of Dayton, Oh.; brother-in-law-Thomas Tisdale of Virginia Beach, Va.
Her graveside service will be held at St. Johns Baptist Church Cemetery, Pinopolis, Saturday afternoon, February 11, 2017, at 4 o’clock, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL.
