Ellen Bobbitt

Mrs. Ellen H. Bobbitt, 104, of Pineville, widow of Robert Edward Bobbitt, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at her home.

She was born March 17, 1907, in Russellville, the daughter of Joseph Huxford and Ida Wilder Huxford.

After receiving her Master's Degree in Library Science, she retired as a school teacher for Berkeley County Schools. She had also been the owner of Bobbitt's Grocery in Pineville and she had the distinction of being the oldest living member of Russellville Christian Church.

Surviving are two sons - Robert K. Bobbitt, Sr., and his wife, Barbara, of St. Stephen; and Edward H. Bobbitt and his wife, Nancy, of Okeechobee, FL;six grandchildren-Robert K. Bobbitt, Jr.; Sandra Ellen Campbell; J. Michael Bobbitt; James E. Bobbitt; Linda Tweeksbury; and Thomas Bobbitt; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held in Russellville Christian Church
Monday morning, December 19, 2011, at 11 o'clock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery directed by Russell Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends at Russellville Christian Church Sunday afternoon between 3 and 5 P.M.
