Ella Mae "Polly" Ward Johnson, aged 100, passed away peacefully and went home to be with Jesus on December 7, 2024. Born on September 1, 1924, in Berkeley County, Polly was a daughter of the late Ben Ward and Ellen Saulisbury Ward. She was the widow of Jesse  Robert Johnson and was predeceased by her brothers, J.B. Ward and William H. Ward and sister, Mary Lee Mitchum.

Polly is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins who adored her.

Throughout her life, Polly was deeply rooted in the Cooper Store section of Berkeley County. She devoted herself to her community, particularly, her church, Wassamassaw Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated and active member for many years.

The family is very grateful to the staff and nurses of Crescent Hospice, Wren Hospice, and Quality Care Residential Home who provided her with exceptional care and support in her final days.
