Edward Carlton Cox, Sr., 91, of Moncks Corner, retired supervisor with Santee River Wool, widower of Catherine Martinez Cox, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015.
Mr. Cox was born September 15, 1924, in Egypt, Georgia, son of Ira C. Cox, Sr. and Laura Ann "Lallah" Russell Cox.
He was a graduate of St. Stephen High School and attended Clemson University. Mr. Cox served with the US Navy during WWII.
Surviving are 3 sons- Edward “Eddie” Cox of Blueridge, Georgia; Walter “Willie” Cox of Bonneau; Barney “Rusty” Cox and his wife, Terri, of Moncks Corner; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 2 brothers- Ira C. Cox, Jr. and Russell L. Cox.
His graveside service will be held in St. Stephen Episcopal Church Cemetery, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Saturday morning, October 10, 2015, at 11 o’clock. The family will receive friends at Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner, on Friday evening, October 9, 2015 from 6 to 8 o’clock.
Memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
