Edna (Ware) Hanniford

Edna Ware Hanniford, 96, of Moncks Corner, SC, passed away peacefully, on December 21, 2023 with her son and daughter by her side. She was born on December 19, 1927, the first of nine children of the late Pearl Allgood Ware and E.M. Ware, Edna was the widow of James, C. “Jimmy” Hanniford to whom she was married for 63 years.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Phyllis Hanniford, grandson S. Guilds Seabrook III, son in law Wade O. Camlin IV, sisters Marie Wooten, Betty Gulli, Micky Renshaw and Nita McVicar, and her brother Jimmy Ware.

She is survived by her daughter Theresa Camlin and her son, Wesley Hanniford; Grandchildren- Ashley Seabrook (Katie), Shawn Adkins, April Bigelow (Josh), Lindsey Hanniford, and Hannah Cotton (Joey); Great- grandchildren Tyler Adkins (Hannah), James and Will Adkins, Maddy, Claire Elly and Phynn Seabrook, McKenna and Addison Camlin, Charley and Brody Cotton, and Eli Evans. She is also survived by  her sisters; Jackie Bridges, Nell Dalton and Brenda Erlitz and many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

With her husband Jimmy, they founded several successful businesses, including Charleston Steel Erectors, Inc, and Ashley Steel, Inc. Edna was an avid gardener and a great cook. In her 60s she became a golfer and a talented artist. She was a loving mother and grandmother and faithful wife and will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Hanniford's memorial service will be held in Trinity Church Pinopolis, Friday, January 5, 2024, at 1 o'clock. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the service.

The family would like to thank Ruth Cooper, Faith Gamble, and the entire staff of the Palmetto Unit at the Village of Summerville for the wonderful and loving care they provided our mother over the last six years. In lieu of flowers, it was our mother’s wish that donations be made to our local food bank, Feed Berkeley, 500 S. Live Oak Drive, Moncks Corner, SC 29461
