Edith Marie Chance Caddell

Edith Marie Chance Caddell of Macedonia, SC, earned her eternal reward on August 29, 2024, at the age of 91. Born to James Chance and Marie Crawford Chance on July 9, 1933, Edith was the widow of John T. "JT" Caddell, Jr., and they had five children; Terry Caddell and his wife Bonnie, of Santee, SC, JoAnn Johnson and her husband James, of St. Stephen, Kathy Guerry and her husband Tommy, of Macedonia, Donna Worten of Macedonia, and Sandra Floyd and her husband Richard Sprague, of Florence.

 She was known by the community and beyond as "Granny" and took great joy in teaching Sunday School to generations of children and was a lifetime member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She was very creative and made crafts and teaching aids for her students. She had a superb green thumb and immensely enjoyed working outside, as evidenced by the year-round blooms gracing her yard. She loved to travel, collect seashells, and go camping, including some mix of her eleven grandchildren on every trip. She was a woman of great faith, with an open Bible and notepad on the kitchen table beside the list of family members who needed prayer. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, 7 of her 8 siblings, her infant grandson Joshua Rueben Caddell and son-in-law Dexter Floyd. Her legacy includes those mentioned above, 26 great grandchildren, and 20 great great grandchildren, all of whom have been blessed by her love and devotion and the countless prayers she diligently sent to the Heavenly Father she now sees face-to-face. Special thanks to everyone who helped the family care for her in her home, including Nina Taylor, her sitter who became family and lovingly pampered her these last few years.
