Eddie Nelson

Britton Edward Nelson III, 48, of Moncks Corner, a welder by trade, died Sunday, September 3, 2023.

Eddie was born December 18, 1974, in Charleston, S.C., a son of Britton Edward Nelson Jr. and Phyllis Taylor.

Survivors include his mother; brother- Phillip Nelson of Moncks Corner; two sisters- Crystal N. Lofton and her husband Wayne of Lebanon; Whitney A. Wanamaker and her husband Ken of Moncks Corner; 3 nieces- Taylor Lofton, Emma Lofton and Rylee Lofton; 2 nephews- Hunter Wanamaker and Dylan Wanamaker; 3 uncles- Dennis Taylor, Edward Taylor and Ricky Nelson; 4 aunts- Jennifer Taylor Owens, Racheal Curry, Vickie Nelson-Rentz and Joy Nelson. He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents- Delton and Marian Taylor and Joyce Hodge.

Eddie was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish, shrimp, and go boating on the lake and river. Every August 15th you would find him running his hunting dogs. When he wasn’t hunting he was on the water. His love of hunting and fishing came from his Papa Taylor who taught him everything he knew. He was a top welder in the state of South Carolina. His Uncle Edward got him a job in 1995 and guided him into the welder he was today. He loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was a practical joker and you could always count on him to make you laugh. He loved animals, especially his dog Storm. He loved his mother’s cooking and spending time with family. Anyone that met Eddie would consider him a friend because of his genuine personality and willingness to do anything for those he loved. Eddie will be extremely missed by all who knew him but his memory will live on with all the lives he touched in the short life he lived

His funeral service will be held at Providence Baptist Church, Macedonia, Friday, September 8, 2023, at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Russell Funeral Chapel, from 6-8 PM, Thursday, September 7, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with Eddie’s funeral expenses.
