Douglas Boyd Guerry

Douglas Boyd Guerry, 53, of Jamestown passed away on December 22, 2020 in Mount Pleasant.

Douglas was born August 30, 1967 in Berkeley County a son of Sara Jean DeHay Guerry and the late Cecil Boyd Guerry.

A graduate of Berkeley High School, Douglas had attended Spartanburg Methodist College. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church where he had been very active for many years. Douglas worked in Loss Prevention for Macy’s, Amazon and Target. He was very active in local politics and was a Jamestown Town Council Member, officer of the Hell Hole Swamp Festival and a member of the French Hugenot Society.

Surviving are his mother- Jean Guerry of Jamestown; sister- Carol Guerry and her husband, Marshall Allen, of Moncks Corner; brother- Mark Guerry and his wife, Robin, of Moncks Corner; sister in law- Sally Guerry of Georgetown; nieces and nephews- Caroline Nettles, Paul Nettles, Ryan Guerry, James Guerry, Mia Guerry Koehler and Megan Guerry; six great nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Douglas was predeceased by a brother- Spencer Guerry.

Due to COVID-19 the private family service will be live streamed, family and friends are invited to attend the streaming at the Jamestown Steel Shed, 116 Steel Shed Lane, Jamestown, SC 29453, Sunday December 27, 2020 at 2 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. James United Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by Russell Funeral Chapel.
