Dominick "Nick" S. Venturella

Dominick “Nick” Stephen Venturella, 82, of Moncks Corner, SC, husband of Janet Letki, passed away at his residence on March 27, 2022.

Dominick was born March 29, 1939, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Dominick Venturella and Teresa Campion Venturella.

A graduate of St. Mary’s of the Mount High School, class of 1957, and a recipient of a Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio State University, Nick worked tirelessly as a juvenile delinquency counselor for 10 years and later retired from National Car Rental. He enjoyed working with the youth in a variety of ways, including counseling the troubled, being a Big Brother, and coaching basketball. His love for spending time with people spilled out into every area of his life, he simply did not meet a stranger and relished in making others feel loved and appreciated. Additionally, he enjoyed time spent working in the yard and tending to his garden and was a member of St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, where he joyfully served as an usher and Eucharist Minister for many years.

He will be fondly remembered by his beloved wife of 34 years, his family members, and his community.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a brother, Anthony Venturella of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

His funeral service will be held at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church of Summerville, Friday afternoon, April 1, 2022, at 1 o'clock. Interment will follow at Berkeley Memorial Gardens at 4:30 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, on the evening of March 31, 2022, from 5 o'clock to 7 o'clock, directed by Russell Funeral Chapel.
