Dennis C. Adkins

Dennis Christopher Adkins, Sr., 84, of Moncks Corner, widower of Dianne Hilton Adkins, passed away June 23, 2017.

Dennis was born September 9, 1932, in Berkeley county, a son of Pinckney Adkins and Bertha Clark Adkins.

A member of Carnes Crossroads Church of God, Dennis was a retired heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling to the mountains with his family and spinning tall tales and stories.

Surviving are two daughters- Judy Adkins Craven and Eddie Owans of Moncks Corner; Bertie Adkins Wiggins and her husband Gene of Moncks Corner; a son- Dennis Christopher Adkins, Jr.; ten grandchildren- Larry Lee Driggers, Marissa Knight, Christopher Adkins, Missy Goodman, Trey Wiggins, Victoria Garred, Bryan Adkins, Amy Adkins, Stephen Adkins, and Patricia Adkins; 21 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son- Steven Clyde Adkins, Sr.; a daughter- Margaret Denise Adkins; a granddaughter- Taylor Wiggins; brothers- Gordon, Harvey and Thomas Adkins; a sister- Gussie Lee Murray.

A memorial service will be 11 o'clock, Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Carnes Crossroads Church of God. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 o'clock until the hour of service.
