Denise Shine

September 20, 1951 — October 17, 2020

Denise Gaston Shine, 69 years of age, who last lived in Moncks Corner, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020. She was born on September 20, 1951 in New York, New York. Denise was the daughter of Herbert Gaston and Helen Henry Shine. Denise is survived by her husband, Timothy Shine Sr., a son Timothy Shine II and his wife, Rhondine. She had 2 younger brothers Andre Gaston and Todd Gaston. Her Aunt Viola Harris and 2 nieces Robyn Lee and Elesnar Dorothy Gaston, and a nephew Thomas Anthony Fisher.

Denise obtained a Masters Degree in Social Work and directed a Foster Care Agency. Her proudest accomplishment though was when she was baptized on March 31, 2019 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. People who knew her, know that she loves Jehovah and witnessed about him to whomever she spoke to, and that she was always ready to share the good news. Denise loved people and was a wonderful, generous, and thoughtful person.

Although she suffered a very long time from a lot of health issues she centered her life around worshipping her God Jehovah. She worked hard and was persistent in keeping up and maintaining her regular spiritual routine and demonstrated this by regularly attending the meetings. She supported and comforted many of her friends that were ill and those in need spiritually and financially. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting and painted beautiful artwork. Death can be so painful. It is not natural for the human family to cope with death. Jehovah’s promise of the resurrection and meditating on that hope is the only way to cope with death. Denise will be deeply missed.
