David W. "Bill" Lewis

David W. “Bill” Lewis, 94, of Macedonia, retired dredge boat operator with the Charleston Naval Shipyard, widower of Azilee Taylor Lewis, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016.

David was born July 5, 1922, in Shulerville, a son of James Eddie Lewis and Ida Shuler Lewis.

He was the oldest member of Victory Baptist Church in Macedonia. He enjoyed gardening, farming and deer hunting.

Surviving are a son- Sheldon D. Lewis and his wife, Joyce, of Macedonia; grandchildren- Glenn Cales; Ricky Cales and Cathy Hinson; many great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter- Beverly L. Cales and a son- Otis Lewis.

His funeral service will be held at Victory Baptist Church in Macedonia, Saturday morning, December 10, 2016, at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 o’clock until the hour of service.
