Darr Fred Sullivan, 94, of Moncks Corner, widower of Mary Z. Sullivan, passed away April 16, 2013, in Wilmington, N.C.

Darr was born November 17, 1918, in McClellanville, SC, a son of George Fred Sullivan and Beulah Lee Sullivan.

A graduate of McClellanville High School, he lived a very interesting life which he enjoyed to the fullest, even serving in the US Navy for three years. He began working with Berkeley Electric Co-Op as a truck driver in 1946 and retired as Manager of Operations and Engineering in 1981. Elected to Moncks Corner Town Council on February 18, 1997, he served as mayor pro tem for a short period of time during his tenure. An active member of First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner, he was very involved in his Sunday School class. He and Mary were married for 66 years and on their 50th wedding anniversary, their children honored them with a special party (at which they danced the night away!). They shared many outdoor activities including freshwater fishing in the local lake, and at one time he and his brother, Oscar owned and operated Sullivan's Electric Company.

Surviving are his children: Darr Fred Sullivan, Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Pass Christian, MS: Jim Sullivan of Renton, WA; Patricia Durlach and her husband, Ira, of Midlothian VA; Michael Sullivan and his wife, Rose Anne, of Six Mile, SC; and Darlene S. Younginer and her husband, William, of Wilmington, NC; sisters-in-law - Beulah Talbert and Martha Sullivan of Moncks Corner; and Maxine Sullivan of Mt. Pleasant; a brother - Marion King Sullivan and his wife, Ginger, of Amarillo, TX; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two grandsons - Randy and John Sullivan.

Darr's funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon at First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner, at 3 o'clock. Interment will follow in Berkeley Memorial Gardens, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL of MONCKS CORNER.
