Clyde Hare McCants, 65, of Bonneau, husband of Jannet Collins McCants, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018.
Clyde was born August 11, 1952 in Berkeley County, a son of Arthur W. McCants, Sr. and Imel West McCants.
A graduate of Berkeley High School, The Baptist College and Southern Baptist Seminary. Clyde was a mission pastor who started the New Covenant Southern Baptist Church, in Rock Cave, W. Va., where he also served as pastor for over 16 years. He was currently employed by the S.C.D.O.T., while continuing to serve as an interim pastor. He touched many lives over the years and will be sadly missed by his family, friends and church families.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters- Kimberly Heater of Buckhannon, W. Va.; Stephanie Pullen of Rock Cave, W. Va.; two sons- Jeffrey Pullen and his wife, Rebecca of Rock Cave, W. Va.; Shawn Pullen of Sutton, W. Va.; a sister- Lucile Watson of Columbia; a brother- Joseph “Ed” E. McCants and his wife, Annegell, of Pinopolis; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother- Col. Arthur W. McCants, Jr.
His funeral service will be held at St. Johns Baptist Church in Pinopolis, Saturday morning, January 13, 2018, at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, directed by Russell Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 o’clock until the hour of service.
