Charlie Edward Dennis, known affectionately as Charlie, passed away in Charleston, SC, on November 14, 2023, at the age of 75. Born in Lake City, SC, to Charlie Dennis and Francis Harris Dennis on December 25, 1947, Charlie’s legacy of generosity, handiness, and selflessness will be carried on for generations.
Charlie, a devoted family man, is survived by his children - daughter Tracie Michelle Dennis, and her husband Bobby Drawdy, sons "Bubba" Dennis and "Boog" Dennis Jr. He is also remembered by his sister, Carolyn Wadford. A proud grandfather and great-grandfather, Charlie leaves behind numerous grandchildren - Kristen Howard, Amber Howard, Ashton Hanna, Nicholas, Noah, Blake, Jaxson, Braxton Whaley, Kaylee Ackerman, Justin, Kaitlyn, Ethan Dennis and Martie Hiott, and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored immensely.
Charlie’s was a proud U.S. Army Veteran. His work life was equally eminent, being a talented builder, spending numerous summers at Camp Happy Days where he was known as "Mr. Fixit".
Charlie will perhaps be best remembered for his unswerving dedication to others, putting needs other than his own before him. His love for helping people was ingrained in his character, as was his pride in finding God before his death. This unselfish nature and his talents as a handy-man were what made Charlie unique in many ways, and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
