Charles Hamilton Rhodes

September 16, 1942 — December 29, 2015

Charles Hamilton Rhodes, 73, of Moncks Corner, retired electrical engineer with Santee Cooper, husband of Paula Dale Langston Rhodes, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015.

Charles was born September 16, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York, son of Henry Hamilton Rhodes and Jane Miller Rhodes.

He was an active member of Faith Moncks Corner Church, he served in the US Air Force, was a Citadel graduate as well as a member of the Gideons. He enjoyed volunteering at the Charleston Aquarium, was a past President of Berkeley Seniors, and was responsible for establishing the Academic Booster Club at Berkeley High School.

Surviving in addition to his wife, of 40 years, are a daughter- Susanne Dorn and her husband, Tim, of Pinopolis; a son- Jonathan Rhodes and his wife, Brook, of Ridgeville; a brother- Edward Rhodes and his wife, Lauren of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a sister- Jane Rendueles of Toms River, N.J.; seven grandsons- Chase Dorn, Brayden Dorn, Peyton Dorn, Caleb Dorn, Brennen Dorn, Hagin Dorn, and Evan Rhodes.

His funeral service will be held at Faith Assembly of God, Summerville, Saturday morning, January 2, 2016, at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in Plantation Memorial Gardens, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 o’clock until the hour of service.
