Charles "Chuck" Malcolm Cain

September 16, 1932 — March 30, 2015

Charles Malcolm “Chuck” Cain of Pinopolis entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 30, 2015. Chuck was born September 16, 1932 in Aurora, Il., a son of Agnes Christensen and Charles Malcolm Cain, Sr.

He received his early education in Aurora, and was the first to graduate from a special combined curriculum from Aurora College and the Illinois Institute of Technology with both his Engineering and Business Administration degrees.

Chuck proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 13 years, honorably discharged at the rank of Captain. While finishing his military service in the Reserves, he was employed as an engineer by Dupont; his responsibilities included hiring employees at the Bushy Park plant prior to the opening of the facility. He retired from Dupont in 1993.

In October of 1981, while working in Washington, DC with the National Alliance of Business, he received a Presidential Citation, from President Ronald Reagan. This citation was for exemplary service to the nation, in advancing job opportunities in the business sector for disadvantaged citizens and needy youth.

In 1956 Chuck met and married the love of his life, Mary Alice Eustice. Together they raised four children. After retirement, Chuck devoted his life to caring for Mary Alice throughout her illness. He was an active member of the Moncks Corner Lions Club and Trinity Episcopal Church, where he served as Treasurer, a responsibility he found to be extremely fulfilling.

Chuck and Mary Alice were the proud grandparents of nine grandsons, affectionately known as "Papa’s Boys”. The love that Chuck invested in his grandsons was phenomenal. He was the quintessential role model for faith, honesty, integrity and perseverance.

Chuck leaves behind, to cherish his memory, three sons-Stephen and his wife, Lois, of Pinopolis; Jeffrey and his wife, Susan, of Mt. Pleasant; Charles “Chip” and his wife, Rebecca, of Willmette, Il.; a daughter- Alison Gain and her husband, Michael, of New Hartford, Ct.; nine grandsons- Jeremy Cain and his wife, Rebecca; Jeffrey Cain and his wife, Stephanie; Lucas Cain; Justin Cain; Eric Cain; Nathan Cain; Zachary and Kyle Gain, and Trevor Cain; two great grandchildren- Hayden and Lucille.
