Catherine Smoak Mason

Catherine "Cathy" Smoak Mason, 64, of Moncks Corner, wife of Homer "Pudgie" Mason, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016.

Catherine was born February 12, 1952, in Charleston County, a daughter of Thomas C. Smoak and Josie Worsham Smoak.

Cathy was a graduate of Berkeley High School and a member of Moncks Corner United Methodist Church. She was the former office manager for the law offices of both George Bishop Sr. as well as George Bishop Jr.

Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters- Jill Marshall and her husband, Will and Cindy Martin; a son- Homer Mason, Jr. and his wife, Tracy; three grandchildren- Joseph Martin, Jr., Sally Martin and Augusta Mason; three sisters- Carol Ward and her husband, Jr.; Joan Jones and her husband Sheldon; Dianne Scott and her husband, Scottie; a brother- T. Clark Smoak, Jr. and his wife, Candy; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson.

Her funeral service will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel, Tuesday morning, August 16, 2016, at 11 o'clock. Interment will follow in St. Johns Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Russell Funeral Chapel Monday evening, August 15, 2016 from 5 to 7 o'clock.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request memorials be made to ALS Association of SC, 7499 Park Lane, Suite 144, Columbia SC, 29223. The family would also like to extend a sincere thank you to Hospice of Charleston.
