Bruce E. Evans, Sr., 82, of Moncks Corner, formerly of Summerville, retired maintenance supervisor with South Bell, and husband of Evelyn Salvo Evans, died Monday, January 25, 2011, in Summerville Medical Center.
Bruce was born July 6, 1928, in Chattanooga, TN, the son of Thomas Roy Evans and Lille Pritchett Evans.
After retiring from Southern Bell, Bruce served as a contract representative for Raychem and Tyco. He retired to his home on Lake Moultrie in 1981, where he enjoyed frying fish, boating, fishing and skiiing with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son - Bruce "Butch" Evans, Jr. of Moncks Corner; a daughter - Kristi Conner and her husband, Floyd B. Jr, of Cross; 6 grandchildren - Bruce III, Brittany, Travis, Demetra, Ben III, and Chris; 4 great grandchildren - Nicholas, Hannah, Hallie, and Chris, Jr; sister-in-law - Jewel Evans of Charleston.
A memorial service for Bruce will be held in RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner, Saturday afternoon, January 29, 2011, at 4 o'clock. Friends may call at the funeral home between 2 and 4 o'clock.
