Brenda Fairley Chaplin, 55, of Cross, wife of Maxie C. Chaplin, passed away at home Thursday evening, December 15, 2011.
Brenda was born October 6, 1956, in Gainesville, FL, the daughter of Morris W. Fairley and Mary Spardley Fairley.
She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Charleston Southern University and had retired as a Senior Accounting Associate with Santee Cooper. Brenda was a member of First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner and she was very active in the Jaycees, Relay for Life, United Way, NWTF Swamp Fox Chapter, and Berkeley Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are her parents of Hanahan; two daughters – Allison Chaplin of Santa Rosa, CA and Jennifer Purcell and her husband, Brad, of Glennville, GA; two grandsons – Coleman and Kirkland Purcell; a brother – Walter Fairley of Hanahan; a sister – Nancy Fairley of Columbia; and her father and mother-in-law- Charles and Helen Chaplin of Moncks Corner.
Her funeral service will be held in First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner Monday afternoon, December 19, 2011, at 2 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. John’s Baptist Church Cemetery in Pinopolis, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL of Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends at Russell Funeral Chapel Sunday afternoon between 5 and 7 o'clock.
