Bessie Dial Cabaniss, 81, of Moncks Corner, widow of Proctor Eugene “Jerry” Cabaniss, passed away in Round Rock, Texas on Friday, April 13, 2018.
Bessie was born October 26, 1936, in Maxton, North Carolina, a daughter of George Dial and Jessie Berry Dial.
As a member of First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner for over 50 years, Bessie served in the Clothing Closet and the Children’s Ministry. She never met a stranger and loved being active. She and her husband were members of the Traveling Investment Club, where they made lifelong friends. She enjoyed gardening and was an excellent seamstress.
A loving Mother and Nana, she always put her family first. She was loved by everyone and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are five children- Patricia Lynn Russey and her husband, Ron, of Round Rock, Tx.; Alan Eugene Cabaniss and his wife, Sonya, of Moncks Corner; John William Cabaniss III and his wife, Beverly, of Hilton Head; Cathie Brooks and her husband, Bobbie, of Wilmington, NC; Pamela Brown and her husband, Jerry, of Rustburg, Va.; her adopted son- George Gevarges of Round Rock, Tx; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters- Janice Jones of Pembroke, NC and Effie Locklear and her husband, Sam, of Gastonia, NC and a brother- J.T. Dial of Pembroke, NC. She was predeceased by her husband and a son- Jimmy Small.
Her graveside funeral service will be held in Plantation Memorial Gardens, Saturday afternoon April 21, 2018 at 3:30 pm. The family will receive friends at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL prior to the graveside from 1:30 to 3 o’clock.
