Bernard Cornelius “Neil” Prox Jr., 63, of Moncks Corner, husband of Alice Harned Prox, passed away February 24, 2015.
Mr. Prox was born March 19, 1951, in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Bernard C. Prox and Betty Joyner Prox.
Neil was of the Protestant faith, a glazier and supervisor at Port City Glass, and a member of Sons of American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and boating. He was a beloved husband and father and will be sadly missed by many, including his friends at Atkins Landing where he and his dog “Dixie” would visit daily.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son- Michael Prox and his wife, Danielle, of Mt. Pleasant; step son- Donald Adams and his wife, Tonya, of Johns Island; step daughters- Lisa Darrow and her husband, Chris, of Mt. Pleasant; Cathy Owens and her husband, David, of Simpsonville; Elizabeth Dawn Adams of Moncks Corner; a brother- Thomas A. Prox and his wife Tammy, of Moncks Corner; a sister- Loretta Sims Perry and her husband, Scotty, of North Carolina; grandchildren- Caden Prox and Mason Prox; 5 step grandchildren. He was predeceased by a step son- Larry Adams.
His funeral service will be held at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, MONCKS CORNER, Saturday February 28, 2015, at 12 o’clock noon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 o’clock Friday evening. Interment will follow in Oak Hill cemetery directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner.
