Belma (Gaskins) Price

Belma Gaskins Price, 90, of Macedonia, a retired bookkeeper and widow of William Franklin “Frank” Price, Sr., passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022.

Belma was born in Bonneau, South Carolina on October 3, 1931, a daughter of Larry Lee Gaskins and Bessie Wyndham Gaskins.

She was a graduate of Macedonia High, class of 1949, and a member of Macedonia Christian Church. She enjoyed playing basketball in her high school years and passionately followed the game for the better part of her life. Additionally, she loved sewing beautiful garments for her family members, attending her children and grandchildren’s activities, and took joy in caring for her garden and flower beds, although the Dogwoods and Azaleas were always her favorite.

Belma will be remembered as an incredibly kind and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who also made sure everyone she met felt cared for and included.

Surviving are two sons- William Franklin “Frankie” Price, Jr. of Macedonia; Henry Michael “Hank” Price and his wife, Emily, of Grimesland, North Carolina; two brothers- Legrand “Boots” Gaskins of Macedonia; and Alton “Popeye” Gaskins of Macedonia; three sisters- Jeanette Ramirez of California, Joann Gist of Oklahoma, and Sylvia Allen of Bonneau; five grandchildren- Hunter Price and his wife, Beth, of Columbia; Will Price and his wife, Melissa, of Columbia; Evan Price and his wife, Caitlin, of Greenville; Brice Hughes of Columbia; Blake Glenn and her husband, Evan, of Bonneau; three great-grandchildren- Coleman Price, Lorelai Price, and Tate Glenn; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; two sisters, Lila Bobo and Frieda Matlock; and a brother, W.J. Gaskins.

Her graveside funeral service will be held at Macedonia Christian Church Cemetery, Wednesday morning, March 23, 2022, at 10 o’clock, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL.
