Barry Oneal Blackmon, fondly known as Barry by friends and family, passed away peacefully at his home in Bonneau Beach, S.C., on February 17, 2025, at the age of 73. Born in Orangeburg, S.C., on April 13, 1951, to George Tunny Blackmon and Helen Sanford Blackmon, Barry grew into a man of strong values and generous heart. First and foremost in his life was God and family.
Barry is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Connie McConnell Blackmon; his sons, Michael Davis and his wife Janine, Zach Davis and his wife Amber, and Bayr Blackmon and his wife Mindy; grandchildren Eli and Lucas Davis, Zachary Davis, Troy and Olivia Davis, and Rowan Blackmon. He is also survived by his brother Jackie Blackmon and his wife Tammy, and his sister Cathey Stone and her husband Charles, who, along with many friends, will miss him dearly.
Barry's impact was felt beyond his immediate family through his business, Flooring Services Inc., where he served as owner and operator. His dedication extended to his community involvement; as a previous Board Member and long-time benefactor of Changed Lives Ministries, he touched many lives.
Upon retirement he focused on fulfilling a dream he had stemming from his love for CLM. He determined that a nice men's campus was needed and dedicated his time overseeing the construction and financial support that was needed. CLM honored him by naming the main building after he and his brother, Jackie.
Barry was also a faithful member of the Santee Circle Community Church, where he took great pleasure playing the drums on his church praise team.
An outdoor enthusiast, Barry loved offshore fishing and all the friendships he acquired along the way. He cherished all the time he spent on the ocean.
Our family would like to give special thanks to Cindy Peace and Quintivia White, aka "Q", of Home Instead and Karen Hodge of Agape Hospice.
