Barbara Ann Ramsey Johnson

Barbara Ann Ramsey Johnson, 77, of Moncks Corner, wife of Virgil Johnson, passed away Thursday, December 29,2011, in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

Barbara Ann was born November 5, 1934, in Savannah, GA., the daughter of Reverend Carter M. Ramsey and Marguerite Gray Ramsey.

She had retired as a medical transcriber secretary to pursue the hobbies that she enjoyed so much, such as collecting lighthouses and pictures from around the world. She loved sharing time with her family and friends - and especially the time that she was able to spend with her grandchildren and great nephew, Hiott O'Quinn. They were the "joy of her life". She was an avid bird watcher and loved traveling, especially to see her mother and the mountains. Her dog "Charlie" and her cat "Bob" were consant companions.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are her mother of Anthony, FL; her daughter - Vicki Rosenzweig of Jacksonville, FL; 5 grandchildren - Jennifer and Mark Wyckoff; Daniel, Ryan and Alex Rosen; a brother - Carter Ramsey, Jr., of St. Simon Island, GA; and a sister - Becky Bunn of Anthony, FL. She was predeceased by her father and daughter, Robin Wyckoff.

Her funeral service will be held in Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner, Monday, January 2, 2012, at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL between 10:30 and 11:30 Monday.
