Barbara (Guerry) Beach

Barbara Guerry Smith Beach, widow of Edgar T. Smith and Ira M. Beach, passed away on Thursday March 11, 2021.

Barbara was born on March 12, 1928 in Charleston, SC to Edward M. Guerry and Mary Caison Guerry. She retired from the U.S. Naval Hospital in Charleston. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bonneau, the Keen Club and the Bonneau Beach Civic Club.

Surviving are three step sons- Cecil Beach and his wife, Phyllis; Bruce Beach and his wife, Debbie and Duane Beach-Barrow; several nieces and nephews; step grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she is predeceased by a brother- Edward M. Guerry, Jr. and his wife, Geraldine and a sister- Rose Mary G. Jones and her husband, Jerry Lynn.

Her funeral service will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel, Monday March 15, 2021 at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens, North Charleston. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 12:30 until the hour of service.

Everyone attending the service is asked to wear a mask and to honor the Covid-19 rules of social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 130, Bonneau, SC 29431 or Hospice of Charleston, 4975 LaCross Rd., North Charleston, SC 29406.
