Arnold William Sheets, 89, of Summerville, died April 5, 2010, in a Charleston hospital.
Mr. Sheets was born May 29, 1920, at Saulisbury, N.C., the son of Mack Connie Sheets and
Queenie Cordelia Dancy Sheets.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served as a chief torpedoman, and had retired as a
civilian security guard at the Naval Weapons Station. He had previously been the owner of Knob
Creek Boat Dock in Johnson City, TN, after serving in the Navy.
Surviving are two daughters – Jane Dangerfield of Beaufort, SC; Karen Kodama and her husband,
Gene, of Summerville; a son – Alan Sheets of Knoxville, TN; a sister – Allie Martin and her husband,
Francis, of Johnson City, TN; a brother – Jack Sheets and his wife, Ada, of Boomer, NC; 9 grandchildren
and 9 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter – Ann Sheets.
His funeral service will be Tuesday evening, April 6, at 7 o’clock at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks
Corner. Friends may call at Russell Funeral Chapel Tuesday evening between 5:30 and 7 o’clock. Burial
will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in Sheets Family Cemetery, North Wilkesboro, NC.
