Arleigh Carlton Wells Jr., passed away on April 5, 2025, at the age of 86. Arleigh was a lifelong resident of Berkeley County, having entered this world on November 13, 1938, the beloved son of Arleigh Carlton Wells Sr. and Edwardina Lyons Wells.
After graduating from Berkeley High School, he served in The US Army Reserve for seven years. Arleigh had also been involved in youth sports as a coach of the little league and T-Ball programs in Moncks Corner.
Arleigh's entrepreneurial spirit led him to become an owner/manager of NAPA auto parts stores in Holly Hill and Goose Creek. Beyond his professional life, Arleigh was a member the Pinopolis Community Church and a missionary with the Red Bird Mission Team, traveling to Kentucky and working with that organization for several years.
The open road called to Arleigh and his wife Joan, as they formed lasting friendships within the WBCCI (Airstream R.V. Club) and the S.C. Coastal Unit #150, where he was even a past president.
Arleigh is survived by his devoted wife Joan, his three sisters, Nancy Modica, Mabel Thomas, and Carolyn Platt, and a host of adoring nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorials be made to the Pinopolis Community Church Youth Ministry, 1833 Pinopolis Rd., Pinopolis, S.C. 29469.
