Alfred Yates

Alfred Yates, 73, of Macedonia, passed away, August 7, 2017 at his residence.

Alfred was born March 16, 1944 in Charleston County, a son of Dean Yates and Mary Port Yates.

Having spent his life working in construction, Alfred worked as an iron worker for over 20 years, later retiring as a boilermaker.

Surviving are a son- Dean Yates and his wife, Brenda, of Macedonia; a daughter- Rhonda Keller and her husband, Kevin, of Moncks Corner; granddaughters-Deanna Yates; Blakeley Yates; Bailey Yates; great grandsons-Brice Jenkins and Jayce Jenkins; brothers- David Yates and his wife, Meredith, of Mt. Pleasant; Allen Yates and his wife, Jennifer, of Conway; sisters- Rhoda Massey of Goose Creek and Ida Drapper of North Charleston. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a grandson- Robbie Jenkins.

His funeral service will be held at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Friday, August 11, 2017, at 12 o’clock. Interment will follow in Apple Old Field Cemetery, County Line Road, Huger. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 11 o’clock until the hour of service.
