Rosa Elliott Williams Bishop, 93, of Pinopolis, South Carolina, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, March 3, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband, attorney George B. Bishop. She is survived by her four children: Elliott B. West, husband Hal; George B. Bishop, wife Jennifer; Martha B. Pitman, husband Peter; and Dennis C. Bishop.
Born July 11, 1930, Elliott was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Walter Williams of Johns Island. She was predeceased by two sisters: Mary Selby Williams Sorenson of Mt. Pleasant and Katherine Walpole Williams of Johns Island. Elliott was a graduate of Berkeley High School in Moncks Corner, where she later came to live after marrying.
Elliott was a gifted seamstress, who at one time, had her own line of children's smocked clothing Mamoo's Originals, which she sold in a quaint little shop on Church Street in Charleston, SC. A lover of nature and plant life, she was known to create beautiful flower arrangements for her church, various special events, and favored community shut ins and elderly. Being married to an avid outdoorsman, she was known to smoke a shotgun or two in the dove field, often times showing up the men with her excellent marksmanship.
Another of Elliott's many talents was her culinary delights that she lovingly and willingly shared with family and friends. Nothing filled her with more happiness than having an overflowing dining table for Sunday lunch, especially if some of her many grandchildren were In attendance. It was always a treat to eat at Mamoo's table for any meal.
