Josephine G. Collier

Josephine G. Collier, 88, of Goose Creek, widow of Aucey Lee Collier, passed away May 18, 2012, in a North Charleston hospital.

She was born May 2, 1924, in Rocky Mount, N.C., the daughter of Henry Lee Derby and Molly Braswell Derby.

Mrs. Collier was a member of Crowfield Baptist Church where she was the Prayer Ministry Coordinator, and was also a former Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir. She retired as Registrar of the Baptist College at Charleston in 1981.

Surviving are her son - Ronald L. Collier and his wife, Rebecca, of Maryland; daughter - Linda C. Benedict of Seabrook Island; 5 grandchildren - Ronald L. Collier, Jr; Darren Troy Mullinax; Jeffrey M. Collier and his wife, Nicole: Elijah Collier; Joanna L. Collier; 3 great grandchildren - Casey Chapman; Colton Collier; and Alexander Collier. She was preceded in death by a son - Edward Steven Collier, a sister - Evelyn Wilder and a sister - Elma Lee Derby.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012, at 1 pm at Crowfield Baptist Church in Goose Creek. The family will receive guests from 12 noon to 12:45 pm in the Church Worship Center. Following the service, interment will be in whispering Pines Memorial Gardens in Goose Creek.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memorium to the Crowfield Baptist Church Building Fund, 100 Hunters Lane, Goose Creek, S.C. 29445.
